The Dark Side of Like..Share and Comment

19/01/17 : In today's world, society is more connected than ever through social networking platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. While social media has its benefits, it also has significant drawbacks.

One alarming consequence of this connectivity is the rise in cybercrime and harassment, as well as an increase in depression within our communities. Many individuals spend excessive time updating their status, sharing pictures and videos, and ultimately losing valuable moments of their lives.

A recent incident starkly illustrates this issue: four children lost their lives in an accident while bystanders were too busy taking pictures instead of offering help. This tragic event highlights how our obsession with likes, shares, comments, and views can detract from our fundamental humanity.

Although social media has the potential to raise awareness about important issues, it often falls short in driving real action. For example, videos showing social workers assisting beggars may garner a lot of likes and comments, but they rarely translate into meaningful help for those in need.

It's crucial for us to recognize that likes and comments are merely virtual gestures and do not equate to real-world solutions. We must strive to find a balance between our online lives and our real-world responsibilities.
